How To Install The Showersoft Filter On A Shower Hose & Handle

Make sure the water is off
Unscrew the shower hose that connects to the water inlet (this is the fitting coming out of the wall)
Check the rubber washer is inserted in the chromed ball swivel and screw this to the water inlet male thread and tighten. Screw the Showersoft unit to the water inlet and tighten the fitting up making sure you don’t over tighten
Screw the end of the hose to the male thread of the Shower Filter and tighten
Turn the water on and make sure there are no leaks, if there is tighten the fitting

NOTE: Do not stand under the shower when you turn the water on. Turning the water on will flush the carbon media dust out of the filter. Let the shower run for a few minutes and it is then safe to use.

Install is done…enjoy your shower!

How To Remove The Activated Carbon Filter Media

Tip: Use a plastic or metal bowl and a wooden or plastic chopping board

Removing The Old Shower Filter Media

Make sure the water is turned off
Unscrew the shower hose from the shower head
Unscrew the shower filter from the shower softener
To loosen up the media remove the wadding and then tap the female thread end of the filter on the chopping board. DO NOT tap this on stone/laminate or other constructed bench top
Put the filter over a bin and insert the wooden dowel in the mail thread end of the filter housing and push the media out the filter
Give the filter housing a wash to clean it out

Installing The New Shower Filter Media

We suggest doing this in a plastic or metal bowl

Stand the filter housing up in the bowl
Insert the mesh disc and make sure it is sitting across the outlet of the filter housing
Insert a piece of filter wadding and using the wooden dowel push this against the mesh disc
Pour half the silver activated carbon into the filter housing and give it a few taps to set in place
Repeat the above until you have all of the carbon media in the housing
Insert the rubber washer with mesh in the female housing
Screw the filter housing to the shower softener and reconnect the shower hose
Turn the water on and make sure there are no leaks, if there is tighten the fittings

CONGRATULATIONS the new shower media filter replacement is done so celebrate by having a shower!

How Long Will It Last?

Manufactured from 316 marine grade stainless steel these fitting will last 10 to 15 years or even longer before needing to be replaced

Depending on the number of people showering on a daily basis, the filter media will need to be replaced every 4 to 6 months or maybe sooner if your water is extremely dirty.

Changing the filter will take about 10 to 15 minutesDoes It Need Any Replacement Parts?

The shower softener has no replacement parts. The filter media will need to be replaced.

I recently purchased a shower filter, and am kicking myself that it took me so long. What a difference! Normally, washing my thick hair requires 2-3 shampoo rounds, and a conditioner… now, I only do 1 x shampoo and conditioner, and hair is noticeably cleaner and shinier… and my skin is fresher! I used to need to pop a body moisturiser once I towelled off, but I guess the filter makes this water less stripping. Now, my skin is hydrated enough and doesn’t need the extra support. Happy skin and happy hair… highly recommend.
