Tired of Scale Buildup and Dry, Irritated Skin? We Have the Solution
Just like bad cholesterol can build up in our arteries, causing strokes or heart attacks, minerals in water can accumulate in your pipes, showers, appliances, and fittings—leading to expensive damage and inefficiency. These minerals also irritate your skin and make your hair feel dry, dull, and frizzy.
We specialise in solving these costly and frustrating mineral scale problems—so you can enjoy better water and protect your home.
What Is Hard Water?
Hard water contains high concentrations of dissolved minerals like calcium, magnesium, and sometimes iron, depending on the water’s source. Water that passes through mineral-rich rock, such as limestone or dolomite, becomes “hard.” In contrast, water from sources like glaciers or igneous rock is much softer.
Hardness is measured in parts-per-million (ppm):
- Less than 60 ppm: Soft water (Causes corrosion issues)
- 60-120 ppm: Moderately hard water (Irritates skin & hair conditions & deposits as scale)
- Over 120 ppm: Hard water (Irritates skin & hair conditions & deposits as scale)
For context, seawater contains around 6,630 ppm of dissolved salts!
Why Does Hard Water Matter?
Minerals in water play a crucial role. Moderately hard to hard water tends to be alkaline with a higher pH, while soft water is acidic, resulting in a low pH that can lead to unwanted costly corrosion issues. Ideally, we want to enjoy the benefits of higher pH alkaline water without the expensive and untimely scale buildup problems that often accompany it.
Hard water interferes with the effectiveness of soaps and detergents, causing buildup on shower heads, screens, and inside pipes. This not only damages appliances but also increases heating costs—because before heating the water, you have to heat the scale. Over time, scale buildup can become a breeding ground for biofilm and bacteria. Scale buildup significantly reducers the lifespan of your plumbing and appliances. Additionally, the minerals that deposit as scale can irritate and aggravate existing skin conditions, leaving your skin dry and inflamed.
Our water conditioning systems reduce scale buildup & corrosion, protecting your health, protecting your investment, and enhancing the efficiency of your entire water system!
Health Benefits Of Hard Water
Drinking hard water has some health benefits, as it contains essential minerals like magnesium. For instance, if you drink 2 litres of hard water daily, you could get about 12% of your recommended magnesium intake—supporting your overall health.
