How To Remove The Magnesium & Mineral Ball Filter Media

Tip: Use a plastic or metal bowl and a wooden or plastic chopping board

Removing The Old Shower Filter Media

1. Make sure the water is turned off
2. Unscrew the shower hose from the shower head
3. Unscrew the shower filter from the shower softener
4. To loosen up the media remove the wadding and then tap the female thread end of the filter on the chopping board. DO NOT tap this on stone/laminate or other constructed bench top
5. Put the filter over a bin and insert a wooden spoon in the mail thread end of the filter housing and push the media out the filter
6. Give the filter housing a wash to clean it out

Installing The New Shower Filter Media

We suggest doing this in a plastic or metal bowl

1. Stand the filter housing up in the bowl
2. Insert the filter disc and using a wooden spoon handle push this to the bottom of the filter making sure it is sitting across the outlet of the filter housing
3. Pour the magnesium ball media into the filter housing and give it a few taps to set the rocks in place
4. Pour the mineral ball media into the filter housing and give it a few taps to set the rocks in place
5. Insert the 2nd filter disc
6. Fit the new O-ring and screw the filter housing to the shower softener and reconnect the shower hose
7. Screw the filter housing to the shower softener and reconnect the shower hose
8. Turn the water on and make sure there are no leaks, if there is tighten the fittings

NOTE: Do not stand under the shower when you turn the water on. Turning the water on will flush the carbon media dust out of the filter.  Let the shower run for a few minutes and it is then safe to use.
